Holiday transport – your one stop booking page, your bookings for wheels have just been made easier. What to book. How to Book. Where to book. All in one place.
There are many ways to get around. You need to see what is on offer in the destination you are travelling to. Here are some ways and options for booking in advance.
Different types of transport and how to find them – lets get you moving:
1. Plane
By land, sea or skies? Convenience, speed, practical, possible and price all come in to play when it comes to type of travel. When taking to the skies, book early for the best prices and travel deals. Click on the TABS below to view booking options:
WayAway is a flight aggregator that provides travelers with the best rates on airline tickets. Users can also purchase the WayAway Plus membership plan, which gives cashback on flights, accommodation, car rentals, tours, and more.
2. Rent a car
Renting a car is the best way to get around to view all the “ΓΆff the beaten tracks”.
Going places where buses, planes and trains don’t take you. Make your travelling meaningful by not only doing the tourist hot spots. Its not always about the place, its the experience you get from it.
There are a few websites that assist with this – click on the TABS below to choose which rental company would suit your needs:
Economybookings β the most favorable prices for cars of all classes from more than 800 car rental companies, including all leading brands.
The worldβs biggest online car rental service (present in 160 countries worldwide).
3. Bus
One of our favorite choice of travel is by bus, if its a safe country and there are bus options with good routes available. Local buses can also be really good options, they take you to all the great places that are not too touristy and where you can get an authentic local experience of a town.
Make one day of your travels a “wild experience” – get on a bus and go with the “”flow””, see where the local bus takes you. Don’t forget to ask the bus driver before if there is a bus that brings you back later in the day.
Taxis are normally overpriced. Best to book your bus, car rentals early to avoid the tourist taxi trap!
4. Train
Not every town or city will give you this option but if they do you are in luck. Another great way to experience your surroundings without having to stress about the drive, especially if it is a far distance from one city to another.
It does have its disadvantages in that you are at the mercy of train times and their destinations, so you might just miss the lovely local town you wanted to stop in on route if it is not a train stop. Some countries do have great train rides that can be great experiences, for example the trains in Spain.
5. By foot
Some travelers rush to book trains, planes or bicycles without doing a little homework on the town they are about to visit. Many places are manageable by foot. In fact sometimes this is the best way to sight see, you pass all the authentic locations that bloggers don’t blog about or might even not know about. Its a great way to get rid of the extra pounds that you pick up along the way when testing all the local foods and beverages.
We have walked many towns and even cities. It is a great way to meet the locals whilst asking directions and you will be amazed at the places you find on your path. If it is safe to walk and you have time, do the walk…
6. By Bike
Amsterdam comes to mind to many I am sure. If you are confident on a bike I would recommend doing this in small towns and villages. I would be cautious in a foreign country with a bike, motorbike, scooter or any other faster small wheeler options. The traffic rules might be different and you may find yourself on a road with more traffic than you expected. Some countries are not bike friendly, so do find out before you venture out on the roads.
BikesBooking is an online booking service for motorcycles, scooters, quads, and bicycles all over the world. BikesBooking compares the prices of 950 rental companies from over 40 countries. 50,000 vehicles are available for booking in more than 2,000 locations around the world. They provide an alternative to car rentals. The service is a key player in the online booking market for motorcycle and bicycle transport.
7. By Boat
Dont always take the known travel options. There are some great ways to get around, when on offer, a boat being one of them.
In places like Montenegro, a day on a boat taking you to all the different towns on the bay is a truly unforgettable experience. Worth the trip.
8. Taxi
I find taxis are over priced but they are convenient and sometimes needed. They mostly belong to a taxi company that has no or little competition. Often you are forced to use a taxi due to late nights, airport transport etc. so always budget a taxi or 2 in to your pricing when planning your trip.
