1. De Volkskombuis

A little bit of South African history and their traditional cuisine menu reflects this. For the best lunch or dinner spot showcased in a true Stellenbosch manner.
In 2017 the Rupert family initiated a full restoration and today De Volkskombuis labourers’ cottages constructed in 1902 operates as a restaurant within the picturesque town.
2. Rome in a Bite – lunch or dinner always great
Wanting a little of that Euro feel whilst sitting on the side walk? This is your spot. Italian owner Fabio will treat you to all things Italian from Pizza to Pasta, to Limoncello.
Very popular amongst the locals, get here early evening about 6 as it fills up quick.
All you need to do is sit back and relax whilst you enjoy their fabulous red wine, excellent hospitality and some Italian comfort food. All well priced. Looking for that lunch or dinner spot in Stellenbosch this is a truly great spot. For those el fresco dining.

3. The Fat Butcher – the dinner spot.
A truly tender steak restaurant. They say it best. “ALL OUR BEEF IS PASTURE REARED AND GRAINFED. THE FOOD IS UNIQUE. THE RESTAURANT AMBIANCE IS WARM AND INVITING. YOUR EXPERIENCE EATING AT THE FAT BUTCHER WILL BE MEMORABLE.”
They are not priced for the feint hearted yet they have earned their 5 stars. With true local and signature dishes that include Skaapstertjies, Lamb Shank, Sole, and the Belgian Brownies. Worth every penny! A great dinner spot.
