General Services

There is a lovely park in Tivat center, Public park – Veliki gradski park. It is great for exercising, picnics and for taking the dogs and kids for an outing that doesn’t break the bank.

You can find a playground near Pine Promenade for the little ones. Grab a “takeaway” from the bakery and enjoy some outdoor time with the kids. (Playground – Mali dječji park)

Where to find “Government Services” in Tivat

Tourist Bureau

Located in town near the Port. This is where you need to pay your tourist tax if your are visiting Tivat as a tourist from abroad.

Municipalities for Monthly utilities

There are different offices where you need to pay your monthly municipal utility bills – different offices for electricity, water and rubble removal. If you own a property and are new in the area find where to do your payments on the map.

MUP

This is where you:

  • Apply for your residency if you are planning to live in Tivat from abroad. Hand in your residency application here. (More information on residency application.)
  • You apply for your vehicles license plates.
  • You collect your new vehicle registration papers.
  • Where you renew, update or apply for your drivers license.
    • NOTE: These applications can only be done in the Tivat MUP if it is your resident or business address used/applicable for the application you are handing in.

Find Health Services in Tivat

If you have a medical emergency as a Tourist you can make your way to a private Doctor in Tivat or to the Tivat Health Centre.

The Tivat Health Centre is the public hospital in Tivat, you will find them near the Port. The waiting time can get long.

For any bloodwork or health tests you can visit the Moji lab near Hotel Pine at the ports promenade.


Cleaning Services

There are dry cleaning and cleaning companies that can assist you with your daily, weekly or monthly cleans. Great services for holiday rentals. On the map are options in Tivat. “Bubbles and Brooms” in Kotor also work in the Tivat area.

Car washes are easy to find along the road heading out of Tivat. Mostly self service costing 1Eur to 3 Eur.


Transport Services

In general, you can walk your way around Tivat as there are many convenience stores around the different areas. If you are centrally located, you will have many restaurants to choose from and most of everything at nearby.

Airport

Tivat has a small international airport. It can get very busy in the season. It is convenient if travelling to Tivat.

Local Bus

The Blue line bus service is great if travelling around the bay. They provide transportation to and from Tivat town and to most nearby towns.

If you are a tourist and you are staying in the center, you can do all your daily shopping, visiting the port etc. by foot. The Blue Line Bus is a great option if travelling around the boka bay area. Take the local bus to Kotor you will be pleasantly surprised. Friendly drivers, well most, and it takes you all along the coastal scenic road to the old town. I think it must be one of the most scenic local bus routes in Europe. A beautiful local experience.

Taxi

There is a taxi depo in the center of town. Right next to the bus station. Just in case you miss the bus. It is a quicker mode of transport to Kotor and some nearby places. They drive the tunnel road to Kotor, if no traffic, you will get there in about 15 minutes. If traffic, you could be stuck in the tunnel for an hour, depending if high season and time of day.

Where to find Parking in Tivat

It is always best to find official public parking. If you are illegally parked there is a good chance your car will be towed – or “spidered”, as the locals say, where your car is picked up and driven away on the truck. There are many parking police around. Take this warning seriously.

There are lots of paid parking areas, including an underground parking garage in Tivat, and designated paid parking bays in the town streets.
