  • Your extent of Involvement in the project

3. PROJECT DESCRIPTION

  • Description of the business you will be starting.
  • What service or product will you be supplying.
  • Sometimes a simple cost effective business idea is easier – K.I.S.S… use a simple idea for your BUSINESS PLAN for Self Employment Visa, it doesn’t always need to be off the charts, can be a diving school. You just need to be in demand, creating employment, have the capital, and the experience or education to carry it out.
  • What is the innovative idea of your project
  • How will your project be competitive and the demand
  • Marketing and advertising to promote product or service
  • IF you have any “noddy badges” prizes, accolades, press articles, any acknowledgements add them in. At this stage it is “boots and all” so whatever you have that qualifies you and makes you competitive will benefit you, but try avoid irrelevant documents as the paperwork is immense…

4. FINANCIAL PLAN for that perfect Business Plan

  • Give a financial plan (3 years forecast): with projected profit and losses and tailored to the type of business you wish to open. Show projections of estimated pricing, sale figures, major costs and general expenses, number of employees, equipment, premises rental/purchase and the number of potential clients. Be professional, and include the figures as you would if you were doing a business plan for your current operating business.
  • Indicate the number of employees you will be hiring, and expand on this in terms of future hiring as job creation is very important.
  • Investment start up amount needed and financial resources, (this should cover your business startup and personal needs.)

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOUR WHOLE BUSINESS PLAN IS IN SPANISH

TIP 1: I WAS GIVEN AN INSIDE TIP …. you wont need a sworn translator if you ONLY hand in a SPANISH VERSION to the consulate. CONSIDERING THEY CHARGE ABOUT R250-R450 PER PAGE THIS CAN GET COSTLY…. (If you hand in the English version you will need a sworn translator to translate.)

TIP 2: Make sure the translation makes sense and is done properly. Get 2 or 3 different translation apps on google, translate each English sentence or paragraph. Put the newly translated Spanish version into the other translation program as this way, if the English version in the other progam is correct, it is more likely the Spanish version is correct. It does help if you have some basic Spanish ….

Wish you all the luck, the nerves, the stress that goes with all of this, I know to well…. Be kind to yourself through this process. Hope your Business plan is successful and Spain is the next step!
